Harry and Sarah Jane.

Oh I do like surprises...

Afternoon all!

What an interesting day I have had.

I set off for work this morning and was there for forty five minutes before realising I had the day off! I know! I was at a meeting on Tuesday, so due to the hours I racked up there I didn't have to be in today: I just sort of wish someone had actually told me, lol.

So with my new surprise day off, I went shopping and bought a jacket in River Island. It's so Eighties, I love it - it's got shoulder pads! I feel like I've walked out of Ashes to Ashes, and any moment Gene Hunt will be kicking the door down with his snakeskin boots...

I've lost my train of thought.

So. I've got tomorrow off too, and though I am working Saturday who cares? Because Doctor Who is on on Saturday. I think I'll somehow find a way to cope.

Happy-go-lucky.

Hello all; how have we all been today?

I've been very well. Worked from nine to five and now have five glorious days off! Aren't I a lucky girl?

I took out a DVD at the libary where I work today. It's called 'Happy Go Lucky', you might have heard of it. It's about a woman called Poppy who is so wonderfully cheerful and has a lovely positive outlook on life. Sometimes there are scenes that make you crack up laughing, and there are other scenes that just stun you in their bleakness and reality - this film has really made me think. I can understand why the actress who played Poppy won awards for her portrayal.

I'm drinking lemon iced tea. I have a memory attached to that. When in Krakow, we were heading towards the Podgorze district and got a weeny bit lost, so went to a petrol station for refreshments. That was the day I had my first taste of lemon iced tea. It was lovely.

This entry was much more thought out and fluent in my head. Oh well.

Shaz xx

Fictonal characters book meme!

Name five fictional characters that you would invite to a tea-party.
Remus Lupin, Henry DeTamble, Alex (A Clockwork Orange), Dorian Gray, Billy Pilgrim. I think that Billy and Henry would have a lot to talk about, both being time travelers of sorts (or at least being 'unstuck in time'. I keep Remus Lupin there as a moral guide, and because he is just plain lovely. Alex and Dorian are the villains of the piece, though due to Alex's somewhat romantic nature I think they would get along swimmingly.

Name four fictional characters that you would you want with you on a long sea voyage.
Hmm. Atticus Finch, for wiseness and reasoning. Sherlock Holmes - he would be very handy in a crisis. Paul Baumer - it might be useful to have a soldier on board, and I'm sure he'd be glad to get away from the Front line. Otto Quangel - he'd get on well with Paul, both being German, and Otto really needs to get away from Germany as the Gestapo are after him.

Name three fictional characters that you would you want to spend a day at the zoo with.
Scout Finch, William Beech and Teddy Lupin. What? They're all kids, kids like the zoo. Scout would love all the animals, being so adventurous. So would William - I'm sure he'd love drawing them. Teddy is an orphan - he needs looking after.

Name two fictional characters you would like to put against a wall and shoot
Voldemort (I didn't hate the character but he killed a lot of good people). Nurse Ratched - what a meanie.

Name one fictional character that you'd like to have living in your house for a year.
Oh. Hmm. Hareton Earnshaw. I'd teach him to read.

It's too bloody hot to do this...

Argh. Ooh. ARGH!

It's hot. Really hot. Anyone in England right now, knows this fact too.

There's raging blue skies above, a blazing hot sun, not a cloud to be seen. My window is wide open and yet the air in my room remains stagnant. I am wearing a vest top and shorts and yet I am still boiling. Is it wrong that I wish it was raining?

I'm just relaxing, trying to read. The book of the moment is One Day by David Nicholls. I've just started it - it's rather good so far, I'm liking the characters Dexter and Emma. The writer is very good.

Oh blah. Did I mention it was hot?

Can't be bothered to write any more of this.
